During the workshops, you may sit back and watch or you can fully participate. Some sessions may encourage note taking or writing, so you might want to come prepared.
During the Group Performances, please remember to turn off your cell phones. After the group performances there will be time to ask questions and give feedback to the director and the performers.
The Individual Performance Sessions allow us to break into smaller rooms for solo performances. Any participants, special guests, faculty members and graduate assistants are welcome and invited to watch the solo performances and to respond to them after all the performers have shared their pieces.
Discussion may include comments about how the performances touched us, evoked images, and Etc. Please lavish the performers with compliments and, when appropriate, try to give them one or two suggestions for improvement. Hopefully, everyone will feel comfortable enough to give feedback and suggestions. Performing is wonderful, and becoming a better performer is even better. Phrasing suggestions as behavioral changes may help the performers to better understand your idea.
If there is time and a willing participant or two, you can also workshop some specific moments and ideas.
As a listener/participant in the individual performance times, please do not enter a room when someone is performing. Feel free to take notes, but please don't talk or be distracting. Remember to turn your cell phones off to prevent disruptions during performances.
